Using Volcanic Ash in Detox

Volcanic Ash
Volcanic Earth is volcanic ash based clay used to detoxify the skin. It helps diminish cellulite, stretch marks, loose skin, discolorations, acne, and large pores. Also helps treat psoriasis, eczema, and muscle and joint pains.
Powerful and deep absorbency gives an immediate "pulling upwards" feel, helping to fight the past, present, and future effects of time, pollution, and the downward pull of gravity upon our surface facial features.
It works by drawing toxins out of the skin. Microscopic clay particles penetrate into pores, drawing out "skin choking" toxins and impurities. The pulling action of this super absorbent masque is like a "workout" for your entire body, face, and frontal neckline; giving your skin a firmer, smoother, more "fit" look. Strong "lifting up" and "pulling out" feel helps to diminish the appearance of lines, wrinkles, "crows feet", expression lines, and cellulite. It exfoliates (removes) dead skin cells leaving your skin and complexion (neck too) incredibly soft and sleek, even after your first application.
The clay comes from the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska. Volcanic eruptions formed the Aleutian Islands 150 million years ago.

If you have any questions please call us 321-768-7575. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Lotus Heart Melbourne Testimonials

I found Lotus Heart at a time in my life when I was suffering exhaustion and physical pain as a result of an overly stressful work environment. The therapists there put me back on my feet. Through massage and other modalities, my stress level dropped dramatically. With that came a corresponding drop in physical pain. I believe that Lotus Heart has significantly improved both the strength of my health and overall quality of my life.
I have sent many of my friends into the capable hands of their therapists. It seems everyone leaves Lotus Heart in much better shape than when they walked in the door.

My massage today stopped a very strong nagging pain episode. I was a fool not to listen to myself last week and put my treatment times as a priority to all else. Thank you so much for your loving skilled hands and continued patience.

Melbourne FL Infant Massage

Infant massage has been practiced by other cultures for centuries. Vimala Schneider McClure brought this ancient art to the United States in the 1970's, after she observed the positive effect it had on infants in India.

Research specific to the benefits of infant massage has been ongoing since the mid 1970's. This research has been conducted at various institutes and with infants who were premature, exposed to drugs in utero, and infants that had motor problems. All these categories of babies benefited from the nurturing touch of infant massage. These benefits included weight gain, neurological development, decreased hospitalization, and improved digestion.

Although it can seem like there is not much going on in a baby's world, it is a new and exciting time for them. It may seem like they do little but eat, sleep and demand attention, with a regular diaper change thrown in for good measure - but they are learning more now than they will ever learn again in such a short period of time. Little wonder that it can take time to adjust, from being thrust rudely from a state of tranquility, warmth and comfort into a world of changing faces, cold winds, warm baths and, well, everything else that we see every day and take for granted.

Numerous studies have found that massage plays a significant role in promoting the proper growth and healthy development of infants. Physically, massage

  • Stimulates the nerves and neurological development
  • Increases blood flow
  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Relieves discomfort from gas, colic, and constipation
  • Aids in digestion
  • Increases alertness/heightened awareness
  • Reduces stress hormones

It can relieve a host of childhood complaints from colic to constipation. Massaging the chest may ease congestion. Gently stroking an infant’s face can improve their ability to suck. We are not trying to suggest that will ensure that they will be a happy and easy child. But it may be able to ease some of the problems that you could encounter along the way.

Pranic Healing

Pranic Healing is a comprehensive system of subtle energy healing utilizing “prana” or energy in balancing, harmonizing and transforming the body's energy processes. “Prana” is a Sanskrit word that means “vital life force.” This invisible bio-energy keeps the body alive and healthy. In acupuncture, this subtle energy is called “chi.” It is also called “Ruah” or the “breath of life” in Hebrew.
It is a simple yet powerful and effective method of energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principle that the body is a “self-repairing” living entity, which possesses the innate ability to heal itself. Pranic Healing also works on the second principle that energy can be projected from one person to another. As a result, the healing process can then be accelerated by increasing the life force or vital energy on the affected part of the physical body.

Pranic Healing was created by a Chinese-Filipino energy master, and former chemical engineer/businessman, named Choa Kok Sui, who spent years researching the root teachings of esoteric systems such as yoga, chi kung, Kaballah, Chritianity, and many others in order to create a simple, practical, and effective energy healing system.
Kok Sui conculded that energy healing, at its most basic, consisted of clearing away dirty or diseased energy from the charkra and aura and replenishing it with fresh energy or prana. Given his background as a businessman and engineer Kok Sui set about to test the efficacy of his inquiries by applying a rigorous scienticfic approach to his work. He set up healing clinics across the Philippines to test the effectiveness of different energy healing systems. Ech patient who came in received a specific type of energetic treatment and the results or lack there of were recorded.

These healing clinics continued for nearly 30 years whil Kok Sui constantly tested and refined methods of cleaning out dirty or blocked energy and increasing the supply of healing energy. In 1987 Kok Sui introduced Pranic Healing to the world as a “best of the best” system of very specific instructions and sequences for cleansing and energizing parts of the body to achieve rapid healing.
Pranic Healing is actively used and practiced in over 80 countries and numerous healing centers around the world.
Practitioners realign the whole energy system to help initiate specific biochemical changes to accelerate the body's innate ability to prevent and alleviate a wide spectrum of physical, emotional and psychological ailments.
What makes Pranic Healing unique is that it focuses on cleaning the bio-plasmic body prior to energizing and it prescribes specific sequenses of cleanising and energizing based on the particular ailment that a healer is working with

About Reiki

Reiki

Reiki is a holistic alternative therapy based on Eastern concepts of energy flow and the chakras (energy centers) in the human body. Reiki was formulated by a Japanese teacher, Mikao Usui, around 1890, based on Vajrayana (Tibetan) Buddhism, but incorporates meditation techniques, beliefs, and symbols that are considerably older. It is distinctive among energy therapies in its emphasis on self-healing, its spiritual principles, and its accreditation of healers through a system of initiation. Reiki practitioners participate in the healing of emotional and spiritual as well as physical pain through the transmission of universal life energy, called "rei-ki" in Japanese. It is believed that ki flows throughout the universe, but that Reiki connects humans in a more direct way to the universal source. Reiki is used for the healing of animals as well as people. As of 2002, a research team at the University of Michigan is studying the effectiveness of Reiki in treating chronic pain in patients with diabetic neuropathy. Various other studies are also underway in the United States and Canada, some examining the efficacy of the therapy in coping with pain and anxiety.

Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of hands-on healing. Recipients report their experience of Reiki includes increased energy, reduction of pain, deep relaxation and a general feeling of well-being. Reiki initiation attunes a practitioner to become a channel for the Reiki energy and is a powerful, life-changing experience for physical, mental and spiritual growth.

Although Reiki involves human touch, it is not massage therapy. The patient lies on a table fully clothed except for shoes while the practitioner places her or his hands over the parts of the body and the chakras in sequence. The hands are held palms downward with the fingers and thumbs extended. If the person is in pain or cannot turn over, the practitioner may touch only the affected part(s). Silence or music appropriate for meditation is considered essential to the treatment. Reiki healers practice daily self-healing, in which they place their hands in traditional positions on their own bodies. They may use touch, or distant/non-touch.

Energy medicine recognizes energy as a vital, living, and moving force that determines much about our health and happiness. The body's energies are key to health, vitality, and well-being. Energy medicine is the art and science of working with and teaching people to work with these energies to empower them to live happier, healthier lives. Long recognized by eastern cultures, subtle energy fields are only recently being studied and utilized by western medicine.

Energy Medicine is both a complimentary approach to traditional medical care, and a complete system for self-care and self-help. Healing takes place by activating the body's natural healing energies and by restoring energies that have become weak, disturbed or out of balance.

Energy medicine utilizes techniques from a variety of global healing traditions such as:

Acupuncture
Reiki
Pranic Healing
Yoga
Kinesiology
Qi Gong

Flow, balance, and harmony can be non-invasively restored and maintained within an energy system by focused use of the mind to move specific energies; and/or by surrounding an area with healing energies. By working with simple energy techniques to keep you energies balanced and humming, you can improve your health, sharpen your mind, and increase your joy and vitality.

What Ailments Is Hypnotherapy Suitable For Treating?

Hypnotherapy is useful for treating a variety of complaints, both physical and mental. Used in conjunction with other therapies, such as psychoanalysis, hypnotherapy can help patients to overcome certain psychological complaints, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, depression, phobias, and neuroses. It is particularly useful for overcoming:

  • Phobias
  • Negative habits
  • Symptoms of Physical Complaints:
    • Allergies
    • Fibromyalgia
    • Insomnia
    • Irritable bowel syndrome
    • Pain
    • Hypertension
    • Used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment, hypnotherapy has demonstrated positive benefits in the treatment of cancer.

Hypnotherapy is also useful in providing general health benefits, such as improving posture and digestion, reducing dependence on sleeping pills or tranquillizers, and helping to eradicate stress.

Meet Dr. Kathy Doner, MD

Our Hypnotherapist is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Doner practiced in her private office in Sebastian, Florida for over twenty-one years. She also served on the Medical Staff at Sebastian River Medical Center and on its Board of Trustees.

Throughout the years of practice Dr. Doner always addressed the whole person-- body, mind, emotions and spirit. She also stressed preventive medicine such as good nutrition, exercise, social support, the search for meaning in life, and stress reduction.

In order to help people more effectively change negative habits and improve their well being, she created a Hypnotherapy practice, CD's for home use, and community workshops.

In 2002 Dr. Doner sold her medical practice and is now fully committed to this holistic approach. For more information on Dr. Doner visit her website www.kathydonermd.com

How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

The autonomic nervous system controls all the automatic functions of the body while we are asleep and it has been proven that words and suggestion can affect the central nervous system while we are awake.

Distracting the conscious mind causes a dissociation of the conscious and unconscious mind and is the first step in inducing hypnosis. There are many differing techniques a Hypnotherapist can use to put a client into hypnosis.

By talking to their clients in a soothing voice and getting them to visualize relaxing and monotonous situations, practitioners are able to send their clients into a state of very deep relaxation where they will still be aware of their surroundings but are very much more sensitive to suggestion.

Once the patient has closed their eyes, the Hypnotherapist deepens the trance by suggesting to the conscious mind to daydream or relax. While the conscious mind is inactive the subject is likely to respond to all suggestions literally. Positive suggestions are then introduced and absorbed by the conscious mind. When in this state, the patient's subconscious can be 'reprogrammed' to deal with certain feelings in a different way and as such, hypnotherapy is not only very effective in the treatment of phobias, addictions, but it can also reduce stress and alleviate pain.

Lotus Heart Melbourne Fl Hypnotherapy Services

Hypnosis is not a therapy in itself. Rather a therapy is conducted in hypnosis, which is known as hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and concentration at one with the state of heightened awareness induced by suggestion. It is a natural trance state, like daydreaming, when the mind is relaxed and focused, where time passes very quickly, accompanied by good feelings of deep relaxation of mind and body.

Hypnotherapy is a treatment that is based on the premise that the mind and body do not work in isolation. By sending the patient into a hypnotic state, the therapist aims to trigger the body's mental and physical self-healing processes that lie in the subconscious.

Anybody can be sent into a hypnotic state; it is not a sign of gullibility or suggestibility on the part of the patient. Hypnosis induces a state of relaxation and concentration that practitioners claim is a natural manifestation of the mind at work.

When undergoing hypnotherapy, patients are conscious and aware, but are open to the power of suggestion. They cannot be induced to do anything against their will.

Our Cleansing Detox Program

Detox sounds scarier than what it really is. People equate the word more so with sobriety however; there are others ways of being toxic other than alcohol and drugs. Everything we put into our bodies determines our state of toxicity.

When toxic metals and chemical food additives get inside your body, it takes a strong cleanser to scrub your body clean from the inside out. The combination of ionic foot detox, vitamins, and minerals through detoxification work in this fashion to remove toxins from your body tissues and organs, from your water stores, fat deposits, and within your bloodstream. Natural cleansing is critical to remove body toxins, and protects from re-depositing them somewhere else in the body.

Toxins such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and the effects of aspartame's by-product of formaldehyde, block nutrients from getting into normal body cells in the same fashion a lead shield blocks radiation during an x-ray.

When toxins are present within your body, oxygen and the your body's "food supply" cannot get inside your cells to supply needed nutrients, nor can the waste products in the cells get out. This produces an environment for diseases to form.

Our goal at Lotus Heart is to help you IDENTIFY the toxins in your body, REMOVE them, and RESTORE your body’s balance.

The Benefits Of Massage
What exactly are the benefits of receiving massage or bodywork treatments? Useful for all of the conditions listed below and more, massage can:
Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays.
Ease medication dependence.
Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system.
Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ—the skin.
Increase joint flexibility.
Lessen depression and anxiety.
Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
Reduce postsurgery adhesions and swelling.
Reduce spasms and cramping.
Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller.
Relieve migraine pain.
A Powerful Ally
There’s no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic) or the reasons we seek it out (a luxurious treat, stress relief, pain management), massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress. This translates into:
Decreased anxiety.
Enhanced sleep quality.
Greater energy.
Improved concentration.
Increased circulation.
Reduced fatigue.
Furthermore, clients often report a sense of perspective and clarity after receiving a massage. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as vital and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits.

Profound Effects
In response to massage, specific physiological and chemical changes cascade throughout the body, with profound effects. Research shows that with massage:
Arthritis sufferers note fewer aches and less stiffness and pain.
Asthmatic children show better pulmonary function and increased peak air flow.
Burn injury patients report reduced pain, itching, and anxiety.
High blood pressure patients demonstrate lower diastolic blood pressure, anxiety, and stress hormones.
Premenstrual syndrome sufferers have decreased water retention and cramping.
Preterm infants have improved weight gain.
Research continues to show the enormous benefits of touch—which range from treating chronic diseases, neurological disorders, and injuries, to alleviating the tensions of modern lifestyles. Consequently, the medical community is actively embracing bodywork, and massage is becoming an integral part of hospice care and neonatal intensive care units. Many hospitals are also incorporating on-site massage practitioners and even spas to treat postsurgery or pain patients as part of the recovery process.

Increase the Benefits with Frequent Visits
Getting a massage can do you a world of good. And getting massage frequently can do even more. This is the beauty of bodywork. Taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you’ll be and how youthful you’ll remain with each passing year. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health. And remember: just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn’t mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan, and work with your practitioner to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs.

Energy Medicine

Specifically, Lotus Heart specializes in the following energy traditions:

Reiki
Pranic Healing
Chakra Cleansing and Balancing

Infant Massage

Pregnancy Massage

Pre and Post Natal Massage

You know you need to be strong and healthy to feel great (and be great) for your new baby. We specialize in working with women through all stages of pregnancy and after delivery. We are here to help make your life a little easier! We offer you Pre and Post Natal Massage.

The female body undergoes many changes during pregnancy, some of them very stressful and uncomfortable. Massage is a perfect combatant for the majority of discomforts these changes effect.

As a woman's body changes, so does her need for a different type of massage. Our therapists can focus on getting in deep to break up your tight knots, reduce the aching legs and feet cramps, and re-align your sore back through pregnancy massage. (Also called Pre natal massage).

Or the focus of the session may be to increase your relaxation so you can get a good night's sleep. When you are under stress your body produces stress hormones, which travel directly through your blood to your baby. We will aid in reducing your stress level, thereby reducing the amount of these hormones in your blood stream. Pregnancy massage will also increase the oxygen to you and your baby through the increased circulation and by focusing on awareness on your breathing.

For your comfort we have a special support pregnancy body cushion, which allows you to lie on your side supported with this wonderful cushion. We don’t endorse the tables with holes in them due to the fact they can’t be sized to your belly and therefore can do harm by stretching the ligaments supporting your uterus.

We can advise you on proper exercises to carry you through your pregnancy? You do need to set up a routine to strengthen your back, legs and arms to provide for an easier labor and delivery? If you are in good shape and strong you'll be well prepared for lifting and carrying baby once you’ve given birth!

Benefits Of Pre Natal Massage

  • Eliminates build up of lactic acid and other waste products through the lymphatic and circulatory system
  • Aids in waste elimination to control onset of varicose veins
  • Eases the load on the clients heart and helps keep blood pressure in check
  • Eases muscle discomforts such as cramping, back aches, tension and muscle knots
  • Relieves depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes
  • Improves general blood circulation delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the cells of both the mother and the fetus
  • Soothes and relaxes the nervous system

Post Natal Massage

First and foremost Post Natal massage can assist in faster healing and recovery after birth. The rectus abdominus (abdominal muscles), which has been stretched and somewhat separated by the distension of the abdomen during pregnancy, heals and returns to normal much faster when massage techniques are applied after birth.

Additionally, post natal massage helps with reducing stress hormones, relieving postpartum depression/anxiety, and help get you in shape mentally and physically for the joys and challenges of child rearing.
